A 37 year old Businessman was arrested by the Airport Customs officers this morning (20) while attempting to smuggle a partially made chain and a Bracelet to Sri Lanka illegally at the Katunayake,
Bandaranaike International Airport it has been reported.
The partially made chain and Bracelet taken in to custody in possession of the suspect are weighing 252.73 Grammes and worth around Rs.1.64 nillion it has been revealed.
The suspect who is a resident of Akurana area was arrested after arriving at the Airport from Singapore by Emirates flight.
He was attempting to leave the Airport through Green Channel at the time of his arrest .
Bringing partially made Jewelry to the country is an illegal act according to the Customs.
The arrested Businessman is involved in selling Airlifted goods.
