Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) had today (06) arrested the former CWE(Corporation Wholesale Establishment-SATHOSA) Nalin Ruwanjeewa over misusing of state funds worth Rs.39 million to purchase Carom Boards in 2014 ,while attempting going abroad at Katunayake.After producing before the Colombo Fort Magistrate Court this evening ,the suspect was remanded until 9 th of April by the Magistrate.
The former CWE Chairman Ruwanjeewa was charged over misusing of state funds to purchase carom boards in late 2014 during the previous regime.
A Case was filed against the former Minister of previous regime the Joint Opposition MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage over the same charges and the Court banned him travelling abroad due to this.
