The imprisoned chief suspects of the Central Bank
Bond Scam Arjun Aloysius and Kasun Palisena of Perpetual Treasuries have been further remanded until 15th of March by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Today (02).
The two suspects were further remanded after being produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.
During the case hearing the lawyers of Perpetual Treasuries owner Arjuna Aloysius had requested the Colombo Fort Magistrate to admit their client to Prison Hospital due to suffering from a urine disorder and a skin disease.However the Magistrate has stated that she could not take such a decision under a circular issued by the Judicial Services Commission and Prisons Commissioner can take such a step.
The court had granted permission to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to question both Aloysius and Palisena over the Central Bank Bond Scam from 05th to 15th of next month.
Meanwhile Deputy Solicitor General Haripriya Jayasundara had stated during the court proceedings that the summons sent to the main suspect of the Central Bank Bond Scam former Central Bank governor Arjun Mahendran who is in Singapore via a coorier service to appear before the CID on 08th of March to record a statement ,But the Coorier service had informed that Mahendren is not available in that address.
