Requests To Remove Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe From The Post Within The SLFP And UNP Parties

After the defeat suffered in local government elections
held last Saturday (10) a group of Ministers attached to Sri Lanka Freedom Party(SLFP) had requested the President Maithripala Sirisena and a group of governing United National Party (UNP)had requested the  United National Party leaders   to remove UNP Leader and Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe from Premier post  and Party leadership post respectively if to continue the National Government forward  and to win future elections it has been revealed.

Accordingly a group of SLFP Ministers who met the President Sirisena yesterday (11)to discuss on the election results urged tbe President that Prime Minister should be removed from the post as his Bond Scam charges and economic programme had caused the election defeat.The Ministers have requested the President to appoint another UNP leader to  the Prime Minister post of the Natuonal Government.

Meanwhile requests are pouring in within the governing UNP to remove Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe from the Party leader post and appoint either MP Sajith Premadasa or Speaker Karu Jayasuriya for the post.If to win future elections a new leader should be appointed to the UNP a group of UNP members urged.


Meanwhile UNP Ministers had requested the Prime Wikramasinghe during a meeting held yesterday (11)to form a UNP Government if the SLFP Ministers requesting to change the Prime Minister and UNP Ministerial posts of the national government.
