The Budget Proposal suggesting the price reduction of Beer might be
changed according to the Minister of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous
Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne stating that by reducing the Price of
Beer no country in the world able to reduce the consumption of strong
liquors .
Addressing the Cabinet Press Briefing
held yesterday(22) at the Government Information Department Auditorium
in Narahenpita ,Minister Senaratne who is also the Cabinet Co-Spokesman
has stated that through the price reduction of Beer the consumption of
it among youth males and females will be increased.
Through the 2018 Budget Proposals Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera had announced a Rs.100 price reduction of a Beer Can.
