Officials are considering to name the surrounding area of historical Pahiyangala Cave Temple in Bulathsinghale area ,Kalutara as a security zone and restricted the tourist arrivals to the Cave Temple due to the landslide threat in the area . The Cave Temple has been identified as a landslide prone area and as a result around 35 Buddhist monks resided there have been evacuated last week and moved them to another temple in the area.
Authorities have decided to prepare a special plan on protecting the historical Pahiyangala Cave Temple after receiving the full report of the National Building Research Organization and Geological Survey and Mining Bureau regarding the Cave Temple.
