Law And Order Minister Has Ordered Acting IGP To Cancel Leave Of Police Officers

Sagala Ratnayake has ordered the acting Inspector General Of Police(IGP) D.C Wikramaratne Yesterday (30)to cancel a leave of all Police Officers in view of deploying them on special duties at adverse weather affected areas.
The Minister has also informed the acting IGP to organize special mobile Police petrol to protect the household equipment of the evacuated people in adverse weather hit areas.

Sabaragamuwa Provinces the water levels of Nilwala,Gin and Kalu Rivers are on the increase according to the Disaster Management Center.

Thirty One Persons Had Arrested Over Attempting To Go Abroad Illegaly Through Boats
Arachchikattuwa Police had arrested 31 persons who
attempted to go to three countries illegally though boats in Naguleliya area of Arachchikattuwa area today (30).
Accordingly the group of persons arrested has planned to go to Australia,New -Zealand and Italy through boats.

Three vehicles had damaged due to a falling of rocks

Several Train Journeys From Badulle To Colombo Have Been Suspended Due To A Falling Of Sand And Rocks In Upcountry Railway Line
Due to a falling down of a sand mount and several rocks on to the Rail track near a Tunnel between Ohiya and Idalgashinna Train stations attached to the Upcountry Railway Line several trains running from Badulle to Colombo have been temporarily suspended according to the Railway Control room.

A Pharmacist Was Arrested With 4720 Tramadol Tablets In Possession In Chilaw
Food and Drug Inspectors along with the officers attached to the Anti Toxic Narcotic Bureau in Chilaw Division had arrested a 39 year old Pharmacist who sold a drug "Tramadol" branded as "Apple Tablets" by targeting school children and Youth in Chilaw area ,with 4720 Tramdole tablets in his possession at a Pharmacy at Vilaththawa in Chilaw area today(29).
The suspected Pharmacist has sold "Tramadol" Tablets which also a kind of narcotic Rs.300 per tablet it has been revealed.The estimated value of the recovered stock of "Tramadol" in possession of the suspect is Rs.14,16,000 according to officers .
During the raid another 46 boxes contains around 4600 tablets of "Tramadol" stored in the house of the Pharmacist were taken in to custody by the officers.
The suspect is due to be produced before the Chilaw District Court.

Two Youth Were Killed After Falling Down In To The Bolgoda Lake From A Boat
Two youth were drowned and killed after falling down
in to the Bolgoda Lake while rowing Boats on the Lake at Dalgada area yesterday (28).
Two other youth who were also fallen in to the lake while rowing the Boat had managed to save their lives according to Bandaragama Police.

The report of an Inquiry conducted by the National
Child Protection Authority over using of around 250 school children to hold a fall of a Kandyan saree which claims as the world's longest saree fall during a wedding reception held in zwas handed over to the Attorney General's Department.
The Child Protection Authority is due to take an action against those who are responsible for the incident as per the instructions of Attorney General.
The Ministry of Education too had requested a report over the incident as the school children were used to hold the saree fall during school hours in the morning of 21st of September.
Central Provincial Governor had conducted a seperate investigation over the incident.

Thirteen Bus Passangers Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Road Accident In Tangalle
Thirteen Bus Passengers including Twelve Males and a Female were injured and hospitalized after the Private Bus they were traveling in colliding with a Tree at Yayawatte area in Tangalle this morning(28).
The injured were admitted to the Tangalle Hospital and non of the injured are in serious condition it has been announced.
However both the Bus driver and the Conductor had fled away from the area after the accident and Tangalle Police have launched a search operation to arrest them regarding the accident.
According to the Police the accident might be occurred due to the slippery condition of the road as a result of the rain and high speed of the Bus.

Airport Customs Arrested A Person With Around Rs.2.3 Million Worth Currency Notes
Airport Customs officers had arrested a 40 year old Sri Lankan attempted to smuggle Sri Lankan currency notes worth around Rs.2.32 million to Dubai at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport this morning(28).
The suspect who is a resident of Colombo had concealed the Rs.1000 currency notes inside his luggage and attempted to aboard a flight to Dubai when the arrest was made it has been revealed.
The currency notes in possession of the suspect had confiscated and the suspect was released after paying Rs.100,000 fine.

Cardio Thoracic Unit Of Colombo National Hospital To Be Shut Down For Renovation
The Cardio Thoracic Unit of the Colombo National Hospital is scheduled to be closed down from 01st of December for renovation work according to Hospital authorities.
Due to the closure of the Cardio Thoracic Unit the Heart surgeries performs in the unit will be performed in a Theater belongs to the Epilepsy unit of the Hospital and in another Theater the authorities have stated.
The renovation work of the Cardio Thoracic Unit of Colombo National Hospital had already handed over to the contractor .
