The person arrested with a sharp object over attempting to enter the official residence of former President Mahinda Rajapakshe at Wijerama Road in Colombo-07 had been remanded until 06th of October after being produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate today(22).
The suspect was arrested yesterday (21) after showing a knife to the security officers of former President's official residence and threatened to kill himself following the security officers refusal to allow him to meet former president Rajapakshe.
The suspect has been identified as a 30 year former Buddhist Monk residing in Balangoda area.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate had questioned the suspect after being produced before the court on why he attempted to enter former President's house and he answered as it's a strictly confidential thing.
The Court has ordered the Police to get a medical report through a Psychiatrist on the suspect's mental health.
