Sri Lankan Cricket Captain Angelo Mathews has today(12) announced his resignation from captaining all three formats of the game Test,One day International and T-20 after a series of defeats Sri Lankan Cricket Team had suffered during last few weeks .Sri Lankan National Cricket Team lost to Bangladesh Cricket Team coached by former Sri Lankan cricketer Chandika Hathurusinghe during the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Champions Trophy held in England last Month and lost the One day series against visiting minnows Zimbabwe by 3-2.
After announcing his resignation outgoing Captain Angelo Mathews has stated that he is not selfish and resigned from Captaincy to pave the way for a new Captain to guide Sri Lankan Cricket Team .
Meanwhile after Mathews has resigned from his Captaincy of the National Cricket Team,Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed Dinesh Chandimal as the new Sri Lankan Test Captain and Upul Tharanga as the new Captain of One Day International and T-20 Teams.
