Anti Filaria Campaign has lodged a complaint at the
Criminal Investigations Department (CID) yesterday (06)as per the instructions of Health Ministry requesting an investigation on the false news spreading in social media these days by stating that an unidentified persons visiting houses are spreading HIV Infection on the pretext of taking blood samples for tests.
As Sri Lanka received the world health organization's certification for eliminating Filariasis from the country ,public health field officers attached to the Anti Filaria Campaign are visiting houses in many areas during the nights to check the filaria status of the public and do not mislead due to false sratements spreading in social media the acting Director General Of Health Services Dr.Jayasundara Bandara has appealed from the public.
Therefore support the field officers who are visiting houses to take blood samples to check on Filaria Dr.Bandara has urged the public.
