Around 145 Houses Damaged And Destroyed Due To The Garbage Dump Collapse

Around 145 houses damaged and
destroyed due to the Meethotamulle Garbage Dump collapse according to the Police Media Spokesman's office .

More than 600 persons belonging to 180 displaced families in the area are currently temporarily stationed in near by temple ,Terrance De Silva Collage in Kolonnawa and community centers around it has been revealed .

The electricity supply to the area was temporarily cut off as a precautionary measure as the rescue operation is still continuing .

Around 17 persons confirmed as dead upto now due to the collapse of Meethotamulle Garbage Dump.

Meanwhile Police have arrested 20 persons who attempted to steel the valuable goods at damaged houses near the Garbage Dump today(15). The suspects are due to produce before the court .
