The Galle road was closed down temporarily at Gall Face Junction in Colombo this noon (17)due to a Vehicle Protest parade organized by Inter University Students Federation (IUSF)against the Malabe Private Medical Collage(SAITM) underway at the moment.The Vehicle Protest Parade which began on 15th of February from five cities in the island namely Anuradhapura ,Rathnapura ,Karapitiya,Kuliyapitiya and Kandy has now reached Colombo it has been reported .
Police have earlier stated that a heavy traffic will be experienced from 12 noon to 3 p.m today on Galle Road/Kandy Road,Highlevel Road and Negambo roads due to the Protest .After 3 p.m public is warned that traffic may prevails in Colombo Fort,Hulftsdorf,Lotus Road ,Olcott Mawatha and Maradana Road as the protestors due to gather in front of the Colombo Fort Railway station.
