Seven University Students Including Four Monks Were Arrested And Remanded Over Involving In A Violent Protest At Colpettyt

Seven University Students  including four Student Buddhist Monks and a female student were arrested and remanded today(20) regarding involving in a student protest  which held at Colpetty (Colombo) junction yesterday(19) violently according to Police.

The suspects were remanded until 26th of January  after being produced before  the Colombo Fort Magistrate today(20).

Colpetty Police have arrested the suspected student at Court Premises and produced before the Magistrate it has been reported.

Police have used tear  gas and water canon to disperse a university students protest march at Colpetty Junction yesterday while they attempting to march towards Prime Minister's official residence "Temple Trees".
