Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport will be closed for Airport Operations for 08 hours daily from 8.30 a.m to 4.30 p.m with effect from today(06) up to 05th of April 2017 to overlay the runaway to improve the surface conditions.The estimated cost of the overlay of runaway in Katunayake Airport is around Rs.7.2 billion . This will be the first time that an overlay of a runaway project is carrying out at Airport since the commissioning of the runaway in 1986.
Authorities are kindly requested from all passengers to be at Katunayake Airport five hours prior to the departure time of their flights , as the Airline check in counter will be closed one hour prior to the scheduled departure time .
