The World Health Organization(WHO) is due to be announced Sri Lanka as a second country in the South East Asian Region which eliminate Filaria Disease from the country tomorrow(21).
A special ceremony is due to be held at the Bandaranaike International Conference Hall(BMICH) tomorrow at 9 a.m to hand over the certificate to Sri Lankan Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne by certifying the elimination of Filaraia from Sri Lanka the World Health Organization's Sri Lanka Office has stated.
The WHO's Regional Director for South East Asian Region Dr.Poonam Kethrapal Singh is due to hand over this certificate to the Health Minister during this ceremony.Maldives is the first country in the region that eliminated Filaria from the country.
