The Criminal Investigations Department(CID) officials have today (28) detained a person who was alleged to have issued death threats to President Maithripala Sirisena through a social networking website on his arrival from Malaysia at Katunayake Babdaranaike International Airport.The detained person has been remanded until 06th of May after being produced before the Colombo Magistrate Court today(28).
The suspect was remanded after the CID requested the court to remand him as further investigations required regarding the issuing of death threats to President Sirisena.
