Sri Lanka Navy Personal have detained seven local fishermen while engaging in illegal fishing at the seas off Kumburupiddi in Kuchchaveli area by using banned fishing nets it has been reported.The Navy Personal have also taken into custody the boat that the fishermen were in and banned fishing nets in possesssion of them.
The detained fishermen and their equipment were handed over to the Kuchchaveli Police for future course of action.
