The European Union has completely lifted the ban imposed on Fish Exports from Sri Lanka according to the Government Information Department.
The European Union has imposed fish export ban on Sri Lanka with effect from January 2015 by stating unreported illegal fishing practices adapted by some Sri Lankan Fishermen should be stopped.
Before the ban Sri Lanka has exported one third of it's fish exports to the European Union.
The Union has already recommended to the European Council to revoke the fish exports ban imposed on Sri Lanka and it is due to implement legally on this July.
