An Elderly Person was killed and Two others were injured following a Lorry-Train Collision which occurred today(09)at Weliwatta Railway Crossing in Habaraduwa(In Southern Province).The Colombo bound train which arrived from Matara(In Southern Province) hit the Lorry which was attempting to pass through the crossing.
Following the accident the The gate keeper at the Railway Crossing,The Driver and a Passenger of the Lorry got injured and admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital and the 77 year old Driver had succumbed to his injuries later.
Habaraduwa Police are conducting an investigations on the accident.
