The Chairman Of Kolonnawa(In Colombo) Urban Council Ravindra Udayashantha has been arrested and remanded until 04th of January over allegedly attacking a group of residents in Meethotamulla Area who have protested against the Garbage Disposal Site in Meethotamulla.The Urban Council Chairman has been remanded after he was produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate yesterday(30).
Due to the attack on the Protest conducted by a group of residents in Meethotamulla last Sunday ,several protesters have been injured and admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for treatment.The residents lives near the Garbage Disposal Site have complained the mountainous garbage site threatened their health.
