The German Car Manufacturer Volkswagen Company is due to establish an Assembling Plant at Kuliyapitiya (In North Western Province) Area at a cost of US Dollars 265 Billion according to the Minister of Development Strategies And International Trade Malik Samarawikrame.
The Plant will create around 200 Job Opportunities for the locals the Minister has said today(19) at the Parliament.
The Volkswagen Agency in Sri Lankan had already purchased a selected land to establish the plant he has stressed.Within next two years the Plant is due to commence it's operations.
While responding to a question raised by Opposition MP Udaya Gammanpila ,Prime Minister Ranil Wikramsinghe has said German Government has assured the Car Manufacturer Volkswagen has not suspended it's operations in Sri Lanka .
