Sri Lankan Navy has today(19) detained 14 Indian Fishermen who were fishing in Sri Lankan Waters by violating International Borderline along with three boats they were in .Sri Lankan Navy had arrested these Indian Fishermen with the help of Coast Guard when fishermen were fishing near seas of Delft Island belonging to Sri Lanka according to Navy.The arrested Indian Fishermen were taken to Kankasanthurai Harbor and handed them over to the Fisheries Department Officials.
Meanwhile the Minister Of Fisheries And Aquatic Resources Mahinda Amaraweera has earlier said the Sri Lankan Government will release the detained Indian Fishermen but will confiscate their boats and fishing equipment.
