The Political Committee Member of the Front line Socialist Party Premakumar Gunaratnam has been arrested today(04) by the Police in Kegalle(In Central Province) District for overstaying his Visa in Sri Lanka.Gunaratnam who is an Australian Citizen is scheduled to be deported to Australia according to the Immigration Emigration Department.He had arrived Sri Lanka from Australia on 01st of January this year prior to Presidential Election on a 30 day Tourist Visa which was expired on 31st of January.
Meanwhile the Kegalle Magistrate Court has ordered to remand Gunaratnam until 18th of November after he was produced before the court.
Premakumar Gunaratnam was a former member of leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna(JVP) and also one of the founder members of Front line Socialists Party.
