Cabinet Has Approved The Proposals On Abolishing Executive Presidency And Introducing Electoral Reforms

The Cabinet has today(18) approved the proposals submitted by President Maithripla Sirisena to abolish the Executive Presidency and Establishing New Electoral Reforms.

A Committee headed by Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe is due to be appointed to draft an amendment on the process of implementing these proposals.President has instructed the Prime Minister to appoint the committee in this regard it has been reported.
