The Special Commodity Levies imposed on Imported Potatoes and Sugar have been increased By Rs.10 and Rs.12 per Kilo Gramme respectively according to the Ministry Of Finance.These Special Commodity Levies are due to be increased with effect from midnight tonight.The Finance Ministry has decided to increase the Commodity Levy imposed on Potatoes because Potato Crop of local farmers reaching the market these days the Ministry Sources have said.
Although the Special Commodity Levy imposed on imported sugar has been increased it will not affect the prices of Sugar in the local market sources have added.
