The DNA Samples taken from the body of five year old girl who had been sexually molested and strangled to death by an unidentified person at kotadeniyawa in gampaha district (In Western Province)has been sent to Gene Tech Institute yesterday (16) for a test to identify the assassin of the girl.According to the acting police media spokesman Priyantha Jayakody the assassin can be identified through the DNA Test.So far the police have been questioned from 15 people in connection with the murder and so far no arrests were made regarding the case police media spokesman has stated.
The Inspector General Of Police N.K.Ilangakoon has handed over the investigations on the girl's death to the Criminals Investigations Department(CID with immediate effect.
Meanwhile protests were held today (17) as well in most parts of the country against the cruel murder of five year old Seya Sadewmini and the protesters have urged the government to impose the capital punishment for child rapists.
