The Former State Minister and Colombo District Candidate of Governing United National Party(UNP) Rosy Senanayake who failed to secure a Parliamentary Seat at the recently concluded Parliamentary Election has reported as turned down the offer of Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe being appointed as Sri Lanka'a Ambassador to the United Kingdom.After refused to accept the Ambassador Post Mrs.Senanayake has made a written request to the Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya to recount her preferential votes polled at parliamentary election held on 17th of August per the large number of requests made by her supporters.
The former winner of the Mrs.World Contest Rosy Senanayake has polled 65,320 preferential votes at the election but failed to get elected to Parliament due to the tough competition among party contestants in Colombo District.
Earlier Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has decided not to appoint lost candidates to the parliament through the national list.
