Nine Police OIC'S (Officers In Charge) including the OIC of Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division(FCID) have been transferred with effect from today(07) according to the Police Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekere.The transferring of the OIC in Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division drew attention to many as the the Division carried out large scale financial corruptions occurred during the previous government.The Division it self arrested several politicians in the previous government including the former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapakshe for alleged financial crimes.
The main opposition United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) has criticized the division heavily during last couple of weeks and charged the FCID was established under the recommendation of Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinha to hunting down politicians of the previous government.The special Police Unit was established by a sub committee appointed by the Prime Minister Ranil Wikaramasinha,
