The leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna(JVP) has urged the government to postpone the forthcoming Parliamentary Election which is scheduled to be held on 17th of August to first week of September so it will not affect the Students who are sitting for this year's GCE Advanced Level Examination.
The JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake has said today(29) that nearly 200,000 Advanced Level Students who are sitting for this years A/L Examination scheduled to be held on two phases in this August due to the election have questioned how can they concentrate on their studies amidst Rallies,Loud Speakers and Processions related to the Election.
If the government has dissolved the Parliament soon after the passing of 19th Amendment the Election would have been completed by now.
