All Small And Medium Hotel Workers In Colombo To Undergo A Medical Examination

Colombo Public Health Department has instructed  all the workers attached to small and medium level Hotels and Restaurants functioning within the Colombo City Limits should undergo a Medical Test to ensure the hygiene of the food prepared and serve by them to the consumers.The Medical Test is compulsory for these Hotel Workers working in Colombo City with the effect from this January according to the Colombo Chief Medical Officer Dr.Pradeep Kariyawasam.


Dr.Kariyawasam further said that these Hotel Workers should undergo a medical test at least once a year and those who failed to produce a medical certificate when requested will be punished according to the law.There are around 700 small and medium scale Hotels and Restaurants functioning in  Colombo City.
