Elections Commissioner Mr.Dayananda Dishanayaka today requested the Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority Rumi Marzook to re instate the Director General of the Authority Mrs.Ramani Jayasuriya Immediately as this Removal violates the Election laws .Elections Commissioner made this request after the Director General of Consumer Protection Authority Mrs.Jayasuriya informed the Elections Commissioner on her removal.She said that her removal was a result of her refusal to carryout Election Propaganda work ordered by the Consumer Affairs Minister Bandula Gunawardena.However denying this allegation the Minister Gunawardena says that Mrs.Jayasuriya was removed from her post as her term of Office expired and it is not a Political move.
