Sri Lankan Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dishanayaka today announced that the 07th Presidential Elections of Sri Lanka will held in 26th of January 2010.Handing over of the Nominations for the Election will accepted between 9 A.M to 11 A.M on 17th of December this year.President Mahinda Rajapaksha who is having another two years of Power on his first term of Presidency decided to hold Presidential Poll first ahead of the Parliamentary Elections.President Rajapaksha and the Common Candidate of the Joint Opposition Alliance the United National Front(UNF) Retired General Sarath Fonseka are the two main candidates contesting for the Elections.
