Sri Lankan Buddhists all over the World celebrated the Poson Poya Day to day a Religious Day in the Buddhist Calendar here to mark the arrival of Buddhism to Sri Lanka.Venerable Mahinda Thero of India Brought Buddhism to Sri Lanka when King Devanampiyathissa is ruling the Country.Sri Lankan Buddhists gathered to the Temples to day to Perform Religious Activitees to Mark Poson.President Mahinda Rajapaksha too attend the Main Poson Poya Festival held in Mihintale at Anuradhapura District of the North Central Province.
Alms Giving Centres(Dansala's) situated throughout the Country served Food to the People and Pandals and Decorated Lanterns are displayed at Houses on this day.
