Gyneacologists Urged The Need Of Reducing The Growing Number Of Ceaserian Operations In Sri Lanka
An Action will be taken to Reduced the Growing Number of Ceaserian Operations performed within the Two Government owned Maternity Hospitals Due to The High Expenditure on them The Head of the Professorial Unit of the De Soyza Maternity Hospital Professor C.Randeniya Said Today(24) .According to The Statistics Around 725 Ceaserian Operations Performed Monthly at the De Soyza and the Castle Street Hospitals in Colombo and Some out of the 250 Ceaserians at the
De Soyza Hospital are Performed Due to the Requests made by the Pregnant Mothers.Government is Spending Around Rs 50,000 Per Ceaserian Operation and the Expenditure is Mounting Due to the Number of These Operations are on Increase Prof.Randeniya stressed.Considering This situation Steps should be taken to Make Awareness among the Mothers of the Affects Of the Ceaserian Operations Like Risk Of Death and Bleeding.
Health Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva too said that there is a need to Reduced the Number of Ceaserian Operations Due To The High Cost. This was Revealed at the opening of the Newly Build Operation Theater of the Soyza Hospital.
