Another 45 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (24) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 2814 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .
Accordingly 27 males and 18 females had died due to Covid Pneumonia and complications occurred as a result of the non communicable diseases they have suffered from as a result of the Corona infection the Center has stated .

Former Parliamentarian Dunimda Silva who has been accused over the killing of another former Parliamentarian Buaratha Lakshman Premachandre and four others and sentenced to death by the court ,had been granted Presidential pardon today /(24) to mark the Poson poya day according to Prison authorities.
the Former MP Silva and four other were sentenced to death by the Court of Appeal on 08th of September 2016 and the decision was later re confirmed by the Supreme Court .
Silva along with 04 others were sentenced to death by the Court of Appeal after the charges filed against them were proved at the court .
Many in the society had condemned the release of former MP. who was charged over killing of another MP as it will provide a bad example to others who are already sentenced to death according to reports .
