Sri Lankans Spent Rs.99 Million A Day To Purchase Liquor And Tobacco -NATA Chairman

Sri Lankans had unnecessarily  spent around Rs.99 million a day  to purchase Liquor and Cigarettes according to the chairman of National Tobacco And Alocohol Authority  Dr. Samadhi Rajapakshe.

Accordingly Sri Lankans had spent around Rs.58 mullion a day to purchase Alcohol and around Rs.41  million to purchase Cigarettes Dr.Rajapakshe  has stressed.

Time has come to impose strict rules to ban liquor and tobacco consumption. in the country he has stated.

Meanwhile 22 percent of Sri Lankan females are being exposed to passive smoking and 11 percent of them  faced this situation at their workplaces  Dr.Rajapakshe has stated . 

Oncologists And Community Physicians Had Today (02)Accepted Exposing Chest To Radiation Is One Of The Risk Factors For BreaSt Cancer

For the first time in Medical hiatory Local Oncologists and Community physicians attached to National Cancer    control programme  had today (02) accepted  that Exposing chest to radiation is one of the risk factors causing  BreaSt Cancer.

During a press briefing held today  (02)at Health Promotions Bureau in Colombo   on BreaSt Cancer Awareness month which falls in  October, Community physician attached to National Cancer Control Programme Dr.Nayana De Alwis has stated that Exposing chest area to radiation is one of the risk factors might cause BreaSt Cancer and revealed that still the  medical world did not identify the  exact cause for Breast Cancer which is number one Cancer among females.

In Sri Lanka For 100 females who got BreaSt Cancer there is 01 male BreaSt Cancer patient identifed she has stressed.

Doctors attended the Press briefing had urged the females to perform self BreaSt examination to identify Breast Cancer in early stages.

Police Had Arrested 18 Persons Over Maintaining A Night Club Illegally

Colpetty Police had yesterday 
(01)arrested 18 persons over maintaining a popular night club at Cokpetty area illegally on Wap full moon poya day by selling narcotics and liquor.

12 out of the 18 suspects arrested were females according to Police .

The night club which is known as selling a large quantity of narcotics and liquor was raided by police according to an information received.

The suspects are scheduled to be produced before Colombo Fort Magistrate Court.

Under Anti Corona health guidelines prepared by the Health Ministry approval is not given to function night clubs and casinos .
