The Viral Fever Spreading In Southern Province Confirmed As Caused Due To Influenza-A Virus

Image result for influenza aThe viral fever which spreading in the Southern Province since last April has been confirmed as a fever caused by Influenza-A Virus according to the Dr.Jude Jayamaha attached to the Medical Research Institute in Borella(Colombo).

The viral fever spreading in   Southern Province is a Seasonal Influenza Flu and people should not panic over it he has stressed while addressing a Press Briefing held at the office of Director General Of Health Services in the Ministry Of Health this noon(04) regarding the fever.

At present the flu is under control and few deaths have been reported due to complications he has stated.

The Director General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe has stated that all the necessary drugs and equipment have been provided to the Hospitals in south to treat the Influenza Patients and the best way to prevent  getting of the flu is avoid crowded places and adapt proper sanitary methods.

Minister Of Health To Get An Opinion Of The Attorney General Regarding Removing Illegal SPA's

spas in srilanka සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලMinister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has decided to get an opinion of the Attorney General regarding removing a large number of Massage Centers (SPA) maintained in the island by showing fraudulent documents .

Health Minister has taken this decision after the Provincial Ayurveda Commissioners had shown him that a large number of such fake Massage Centers are being maintained in provincial areas illegally .Health Minister has stated that he is seeking an opinion from the Attorney General to pass a law on removing illegal Massage Centers located in the Island.

A large number of Provincial Ayurveda Commissioners had shown the Health Minister during the Provincial Indigenous Medicine Ministers Summit held at the National Blood Center in Narahenpita today (04)  that around 300 such Illegal Massage Centers are currently being located within  Maharagama Urban Council limits of the Western Province however only four Massage Centers in the City Limits got permission to carried out activities .

Even Police ,The Maharagama Urban Council and Ayurveda Department have jointly conducted an investigation regarding these Massage Centers last Saturday ,However failed to remove them although they are illegal due to the lack of legal provision available to go for a such action the Ayurveda Commissioners have stated.

New Temporary Group Of Officials Have Appointed To The Co-Governing SLFP


  • A temporary group of officials have been appointed to the key posts of the Co -governing party Sri Lanka Freedom Party during the Party's Executive Ccommittee and the Central Committee meetings held at once at the "Ape Gama"premises in Battaramulla today(03).
Accordingly the previous officials of the Party have resigned from their posts and  President Maitripala sirisena has been elected  as the new chairman of the SLFP and two former presidents Chandrika Kumarathunge and Mahinda Rajapakshe along with the former Prime Minister D.M.Jayaratne have been appointed as the advisers of the Party.

The new Temporary National Organizer of the SLFP is Duninda Dissanayake and Treasurer MP S.B Dissanayake.Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa has been appointed as the new temporary General Secretary of the party  . 

Strong Smell Emalating From The Water Distributed From Biyagama Water Purification Center

A strong smell emalating from the
water distributed by the Biyagama water Purification Center to several areas of Biyagama since few days according to the residents.

Accordingly residents in several ateas including Ja Ela,Dandugama and Batagama received the water with strong smell.

However Authorities have stated that the water in the purification center in Biyagama is being cleaned at present without giving the reasons that  caused the strong smell.
