Road Development Authority To Change Yellow Color Of Pedestal Crossings To White

pedestal crossings sri lanka සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලRoad Development Authority has decided to change the yellow color of pedestal crossings in the country to white with effect from 03rd of December.

According to the chairman of Road Development Authority Nihal Suriyaarachchi this decision has been taken to keep yellow colored pedestal crossing to an international standard.

Changing color of pedestal crossings will begin from western province on 03rd of December and it will expand to other provinces afterwards the Chairman has stated.The color  changing of pedestal crossings in the country is due to be concluded within one year he has stressed.

Transport Ministry To Increase The Traffic Violations Fine To Rs.25,000 For Six Traffic Violations

traffic violatins සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලMinistry Of Transport has decided to increase the traffic violations fine to Rs.25,000 for six traffic violations with immediatte effect Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva has stated today (21).

Accordingly the fine of Rs.25,000 will be charged for (1) Speeding, (2)Drunken Driving, (3)Driving without a valid licence, (4)Driving without a vehicle Insurance, (5)Driving illegally at a railway crossing and (6)Overtaking from the left side.

The decision to increase the fine for these traffic violations had taken during a discussion held today (21)between Lanka Private Bus Owners Association leaders and Ministers Nimal Siripala De Silva and Ravi Karunanayake.

The Lanka Private Bus Owners Association which earlier threatened to strike demanding withdrawing the budget proposal on increasing minimum traffic violations fine to Rs.2500 has agreed to the following decision of the Ministry it has been announced.

Around 50,000 Were Killed During Thirty Years Of War While 67,000 Were Killed Due To Motor Vehicle Accidents-Chief Inspector Kithsiri Kumara

motor vehicle accidents සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලAround 50,000 persons were killed during thirty years of war in Sri Lanka and in the same period around 67,000 persons were killed due to Motor Vehicle accidents according to the Chief Inspector attached to the Traffic Headquarters in Sri Lanka Police K.A Kithsiri Kumara.

While stating that Motor Vehicle Accidents becomes a deadly weapon for the local public more than the thirty year old war Chief Inspector Kithsiri Kumara has revealed that daily around 7 persons killed , around 30 persons received critical injuries and another 100 persons received minor injuries due to the motor vehicle accidents occurred in Sri Lanka .

During the nine year period from 2006 to 2015 23,177 deadly motor vehicle accidents occurred throughout the island and 24,842 persons were killed due to these accidents he has stressed during a media seminar held this morning(21) at Health Education Bureau in Colombo regarding "World day of Remembrance of Road Traffic Victims".

High speed driving,drunken driving,carelessness,not wearing helmets and not concern about other vehicles and  pedestrians in the road have recognized as major reasons for these motor vehicle accidents Chief Inspector Kithsiri Kumara has stated.

"If everyone who is driving a vehicle should think about others safety in the road as well as theirs ,majority of these accidents can be prevented he has further said.

Health Ministry To Stop Ayurveda Doctors From Prescribing Western Medicines For Patients

Minister of Health,Nutrition and indigenous Medicine
Dr.Rajitha Senarathna has requested the local Ayurveda Doctors not to prescribe western medicine for their patients and only stick with Ayrveda Medicine.

"Ministry Of Health will take every step to completely stop the  prescribing of western medicines by Ayurveda Doctors "the Minister has stressed.

The  Trade Unions of Western Doctors  too recently accused that some local Ayurveda Doctors are prescribing western medicines illegally  along with Ayurveda Medicine to their patients .
