Court Given A Permission To CID To Investigate On Missing Body Parts of Wasim Thajudeen

Colombo Magistrate Court has yesterday(03) given a permission to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to carry out Investigations at the Malabe Private Medical Collage to find out the missing body parts of murdered former Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen.

The former Chief Judicial Medical officer(JMO) in Colombo Professor Ananda Samarasekera who is now the vice chancellor of Private Medical Collage is believed to have transported  the body organs of former Rugby player to the Private Medical Collage in Malabe.

Earlier the anticipatory bail application filed by former Colombo JMO Professor  Samarasekera had been rejected by the Court .




Two Proposed Bills Related To Buddhism To Be Approved By Maha Sangha Before Presented To Parliament

The proposed "Theravada Bhikku Dialogue " and "Buddhist Temporaries Ordinance (Vihara  Gam Devala  Act)Bills will not be presented to the Parliament until received approval from the Maha Sangha according to the Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala.

This decision has been taken during the Party Leaders meeting held this morning the Deputy Speaker has stated.

Earlier  Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapakshe has stated that the proposed two bills will be taken to debate in Parliament on 04th of October(Tomorrow).

New Zealand Will Assist To Develop Sri Lankan Film Industry-New Zealand Governor

" New Zealand will provide it's assistance,knowledge and expertise to modify the Sri Lankan Film Industry and to establish a National Film Development Board in the country "  the governor general  of New Zealand Shrimathi Patsy Reddy  pledged to the Sri Lankan delegation headed by Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe which met her recently.

During the meeting with Sri Lankan Prime  Minister a first of it's kind with a head of state after the New Zealand Governor assumed her duties in her post, Shrimathy Reddy has stated that she will give her personal support too to develop Sri  Lankan Film Industry.

During the meeting the New Zealand Governor and  Sri Lankan Prime Minister had discussed on  bi  lateral issues relevant to both countries it has been reported.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Court Has Today (03) Given PermissionTo Former Defense Secretary To Leave For China

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya has today (03) given a permission to former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe to leave for China to attend a Defense Seminar  as per a request made by him.

After taking into consideration the application filed by Former Defense Secretary Rajapakshe at the court by requesting permission to leave for China the Colombo Chief Magistrate has announced his decision today.


Earlier the Colombo Chief Magistrate Court had directed the Department of Immigration and Emigration to temporarily suspend the passport of former Defense Secretary over the floating armory issue.
