Navy Had Detained Ten Fishermen In The Seas Off Kadiraweli And Thalpadu While Engaging In Illegal Fishing

Image result for illegal fishing sri lankan fishermenSri Lanka Navy Personal have detained ten local fishermen while engaging in illegal fishing by using banned fishing nets in the seas off Kadiraweli and Thalpadu(In northern province) yesterday(26).

Accordingly Navy Personal had detained eight fishermen in the seas off Kadiraweli while engaging in illegal fishing with a purse saine net,two dinghies(boats) and diving mask the suspects and equipment were handed over to the Vakarai Police for future course of action.

The Navy Personal have detained another two fishermen with banned mono filament net and two dinghies in the seas off Thalpadu and handed over to Mannar Assistant Directorate Of Fisheries for future course of action.


A Restaurant Owner Was Shot And Killed In Peradeniya

Image result for crime sceneA restaurant  owner at pilimathalawa in Peradeniya (Central Province) had been shot and killed by an unidentified gunmen today at the restaurant owned by him according to the police.

The deceased was rushed to the Peradeniya teaching hospital in critical condition ,but succumbed to his injuries on admission to the hospital.

Peradeniya police have stated that two gunmen arrived on  a motor bicycle had shot  the restaurant owner and fled away from the scene.

Peradeniya Police are conducting an investigations  on the incident.

Two Were Killed And Ten Others Injured Due To A Wild Elephant Attack At Anuradhapura

Image result for wild elephant attackTwo persons including a  five year old boy were killed and ten others injured  as a  wild elephant had attacked the van they were travelling in at Karuwalagaswewa Area in Anuradhapura District in the wee hours this morning.

The twelve persons in the van were on their way to Katunayake Air Port to leave for Canada when the attack occurred.

According the reports one person had died before admitted to hospital and the five year old boy had succumbed to his injuries after hospitalized due to the wild elephant attack occurred on Puttalam-Anuradhapura road ,near the mee oya bridge around 2 .20a.m this morning.

The injured were rushed to the puttalam hospital but one person was died on the way it has been reported.The second of the deceased the five year old  boy was died after he was transferred to Colombo National Hospital from Puttalam Hospital in critical condition.

The injured were admitted to the chilaw Hospital for treatment it has been reported.

The two who were killed had been identified as residents in Thilppalai,Jaffna and they were in the car at the time of the accident.
