Katunayake Airport Authorities Have Deported A Couple And Their Child Who Arrived From Dubai

The Katunayake Airport Authorities have today(12) deported a couple and their child who arrived in Sri Lanka from Dubai  with fake passports by suspecting they might  belonging to the ISIS Terrorist Group .

The authorities have found a German Passport in possession of the Husband of the deported Muslim family and two fake UAE (United Arab Emirates) passports in  possession of mother and the child it has been reported.Authorities have also recovered two Lebanese refugee passports inside the luggage of the family.

The suspected family is  due to leave Germany on 14th(Sunday) according to their flight details.

The family  who arrived in Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport early this morning from  Air Arabia flight had been deported from the country as per the instructions of Controller General of  Immigration and Emigration according to the Airport Authorities.

Airport authorities have also informed the local Intelligence Officials on the family as they have received information to stay on alert regarding the ISIS terrorist group members or their supporters enter the country.

No Sri Lankans In Thailand Affected Due To The Bomb Blasts -Foreign Affairs Ministry

The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs has announced that  no Sri Lankans lives in Thailand have been affected due to the eight bomb blasts that hit at five tourist cities and towns in the country since last night.

Around  four persons  were killed and and many  were injured due to the series of  Bomb Blasts which occurred   in Thailand it has been reported.

The Blasts occurred at five Thai cities and  towns which are popular among tourists namely Hua Hin,Surat Thani,Trang,Patong and Phang Nga.

Imprisoned Former Eastern Province Chief Minister Pillayan Was Further Remanded

The former chief minister of the Eastern Province shivanasathurai chandrakanthan allias Pillayan Who is in remand in connection with the murder case of  former MP Joseph Pararajasingham was further remanded until 24th of August by the Batticalloa Magistrate Court.

Pillayan was further remanded when he was produced before the Batticalloa Magistrate court yesterday(10).

He was detained by the Colombo Crimes Division on 09th of October last year.

CID Was Given Permission To Investigate Bank Accounts Of Intelligence Officers

The Mount Lavinia Magistrate Court has today (11) given permission to the  criminal investigations department (CID) to investigate the bank accounts of 63 intelligence officials regarding the murder of former Sunday Leader Newspaper editor Lasantha Wikramathunge.

The permission was given when the case on Lasanths Wikramathunge's murder taken up for hearing today (11).

The CID is expecting to get statements from officials attached to 32 financial institutions to find out the bank account details it has been reported.

Meanwhile the Mount Lavinia Magistrate has ordered to further remand the Army Intelligence officer who had been detained and remanded over the killing  of Former Sunday Leader editor  .


He is due to be produced before the  identification parade on the same day.
