Sri Lankan Fishermen Had Rescued Five Indian Fishermen After Their Boat Developed Technical Fault In Sri Lankan Seas
A Group of Sri Lankan Fishermen had rescued five Indian Fishermen arrived from Tamil Nadu yesterday (23)after their boat developed a technical fault off Sri Lanka's coastal waters.
The local fishermen have taken the rescued Indian Fishermen to the army camp in valvitithurai (In Northern Province)and later they were remanded until 07th of July after being produced before court.The remanded Indian Fishermen are now in Jaffna Prison it has been reported.

Police Narcotics Bureau Officials Have Detained Six Suspects With A Haul Of One Kilo Grammes And Fifty Grammes Of Heroin
The Police Narcotics Bureau Officials have detained six persons with a haul of one kilo gramme and fifty grammes of heroin during two separate raids carried out last night in Colombo.
During a raid carried out by Wellampitiya Police last night ,two males and two females were detained along with 600 grammes of heroin and two three wheeler s in their possession too were taken into custody by the Police.
During another raid Police Narcotics Bureau Officials have detained two persons along with 450 grammes of heroin in their possession at Grandpass.
According to the authorities the total value of the detained haul of heroin is around Rs.12 million.

Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran Has Informed Monitory Board He Will Not Seeking An Extension Of His Term
The Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran has today (24)informed the Monitory Board that he will not seeking an extension of his term until the committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) cleared his name from the charges leveled against him .
The Central Bank Governor who had faced an allegation regarding a treasury bond issue is due to leave his post on 30th of June as his term finishes that day.
A large number of Trade Unions,Civil Society Groups ,Opposition Members and Sri Lanka Freedom Party(SLFP) members have requested the president maithripala sirisena not to extend the term of Central Bank Governor Mahendren due to an allegation leveled against him that he had involved in the controversial treasury bond issue.
