Sri Lanka Navy Have Detained 23 Local Fishermen Along With Equipment While Ilegally Fishing In Sri Lankan Waters

Sri Lanka Navy have today(13) detained 23 local Fishermen along with three fiber glass Dinghy Boats they were in and equipment while illegally fishing in seas off Sampur(In Eastern Province).

During the raid Navy have taken into custody three fiber glass dinghies,two diving masks and three monofilament nets.The detained fishermen and equipment were handed over to the fisheries inspector in Muttur for future course of action.

Government Has Decided Not To Release Any Of The Detained Elephants Who Were Taken Into Custody

The government has decided not to release any of the Elephants who had been taken into custody by Wildlife Department recently  due to their owners kept these Elephants without a valid licence.

If the temples want to getting the service of elephants for their processions they should have done that trough elephants in Pinnawala Orphanage the Minsiter Of Housing snd Constrution Sajith Preamdasa has stated.

Turkish Foreign Minister To Arrive Sri Lanka For A Two Day State Visit

The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu is due to arrive in Sri Lanka on this Tuesday(14) for a two day official visit.

During his official visit to Sri Lanka the Turkish Foreign Minister is due to meet president Maithripala Sirisena,Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe ,Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera and Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade Malik Samarawikrame.
