Former President's Second Son Yoshitha Rajapakshe And Three Other Suspects Remanded Over Money Laundering Granted Bail

The former president Mahinda Rajapakshe's seond son Yoshitha Rajapakshe and three others who were arrested and remanded over money laundering charges have been released on bail this morning by the Colombo High Court.

However the fifth suspect remanded over the money laundering charges with above mentioned persons Nishantha Ranathunge was not able to get bail today as he has filed a seperate bail application and it is due to be considered  by Colombo High Court romorrow(15).

The former president Mahinda Rajapakshe and his Attorneys had filed the bail application on behalf of Yoshitha and three other suspects on 17th of February.However the bail application was earlier rejetced by Colombo High Court on 29th of February.

President Ordered Army Protection To Power Sub Stations-Minister Refused To Accept Electricity Board Chairman's Resignation

President Maithripala Sirisena has directed the Army Officers to be deployed to protect all the Power Sub Staions island wide connected to National Power Grid the Minister Of Power and Renewable Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya has said today(14).

Meanwhile Minister Siayambalapitiya has refused to accept the resignation letter sent by Ceylon Electricity Board Chairman Anura Wijeypala today(14).The Electricity Board Chairman has yesterday stated he will take the full responsibility of 3 Island Wide Power Failures occurred during last six months including yesterday's one and resigned from his post after the power supply fully restored.

Damage To The Major Transformer At Biyagama Receiving Station Has Been Identified As The Main Casue For Island Wide Black Out

A damage to the Major Transformer at  Biyagama Receiving Station due to an explosion has been identified as the Cause  for  Island Wide Power Failure occurred yesterday(13) according to Ceylon Electricity Board(CEB).

The Island Wide Black Out occurred around 2.30 P.M yesterday evening lasted several hours and the Crews of the Ceylon Electricity Board managed to restore power supply fully late last night.

Meanwhile Ceylon Electricity Board has launched two separate investigations on an explosion which caused the damage to Major Transformer at Biyagama Receiving Station and to check whether it is an act of sabotage the Chairman of the CEB Anura Wijeypala has said.

Due to the damage occurred to  Transformer at Biyagama Receiving Station minor power interruptions may have occurred during next 3 days he has stressed.

Government has requested the Government Analyst to inquire and issue a report regarding the damage to the Major Transformer at Biyagama it has been reported.

Due To The Increased Flour Price Price Of A Loaf Of Bread Due To Be Increased By Rs.4-Bakery Unions

Image result for loaf of breadDue to the Price increase of Prima Wheat Flour which came in to effect since yesterday(12)the Price of a loaf of Bread is due to be increased by  Rs. 4.00  according to Bakery Owners Unions.

The Price Increase of the Bread will come in to effect after the Consumer Week which falls from 14th to 20th of March the unions have stated.

The Price of  the  1 Kilo Gramme Of Prima Wheat Flour has been increased by Rs.7.20 with effect from yesterday(12).

Eight Vehicles Collided With Each Other At A Roundabout In Ambalangoda

Eight Vehicles had collided with each other at Madampagoda Roundabout in Ambalangoda(In Southern Province) Today(13) but no one was injured due to the collision according to the Police.

Accordingly a  Cab arrived from wrong side of the Road  had collided with two three wheeler s,four motor bicycles and a lorry parked by side of the  road according to the Police.
