A Batch Of 115 Sri Lankan Domestic Workers Returned The Island From Qatar And Kuwait
A batch of 115 Sri Lankans who worked as House Maids in Qatar and Kuwait has returned the Island today(29) due to the domestic harrasment they have faced in the hands of their employers.
The Batch comprising with 73 females and 42 males has been returned the country through four Middle Eastern Flights early this morning.The returnees have told the officials here that the Sri Lankan Embassy Staff in Qatar and Kuwait didn't help them to over come their problems,
Meanwhile a batch of 56 Sri Lankan Females worked as House Maids in Saudi Arabia has returned the country yesterday(28) with courtesy from Foreign Employment Bureau in Sri Lanka.

The Using Of Polythene And Importation And Production Of Asbestos To Be Banned From Next Year --President Sirisene.
President Maithripala Sirisene has said today(29) that he will introduce strict laws from next year to avoid using of Polythene and Asbestos which are known as major threats to the people's health and environment.
Under this the use of Polythene will be banned from 01st of January 2016 and the importing and production of Asbestos will be totally banned from 01st of January 2018 the President has said.
President Sirisene has revealed that he wants to stop using Polythene and to avoid importing and production of Asbestos when he was the Health Minister but has failed to implement them.
The President has made these remarks during a ceremony held today (29) at President's House to hand over of certificates to the school children in Kandy District under the Environmental Service Programme

Under this 3000 kilo grammes of tender tea leaves plucked yesterday (28) by 500 tea plucker's attach to Kelani Valley Tea Estate and powdered them at a tea factory in Nuwara Eliya.
The new Guinness book of world record will be set up after serving the Tea made by this powdered tea to 35,000 estimated people who are due to attend today's world famous Esala Perahara (Po session) at Kandy.
