A Nine Hour Water Cut To Be Implemented In Colombo Tomorrow(21)

 

A 09 hour long Water cut is scheduled to be implemented in  five Municipal council areas ,Three  Urban council areas and in a Pradesheeya Sabha area in Colombo District tomorrow (21) due to an essential maintenance work at Amabathale Water treatment plant according to the National Water Supply and Drainage Board ,

Accordingly the water supply to Colombo,Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia ,Sri Jayawardanapura Kotte , Kaduwela and Moratuwa  Municpal Council areas as well as in Maharagama,Boralesgamuwa and Kolonnnawa Urban council areas  and Kotikawatte-Mulleriyawa Pradesheeya Sabha area will be disrupted from 11 a.m to 8 p.m tomorrow the Board has stated .

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is due to carryout a maintenance work at the Ambatale Water  treatment plant during the water cut the Board has announced.

At a time Viral fevers like Corona,Influenza and Dengue are spreading rapidly the water cut will put the public in relevant areas  in an inconvenience situation .

Police Fired Tearr Gas To Disperse A Students Protest

 Peradeniya Police have fired Tear gas and water canons to disperse a Protest March organized by the University students attached to the Students Union of University Of Peradeniya at Peradeniy area few  hours ago according to reports ,

Due to the Protest march launched by the Students attached to the Students Union of Peradeniya University the Colombo -Peradeniya main road from Peradeniya University had been blocked it has been revealed .The group of University students had launched the Protest march demanding to release all the university students  including the imprisoned convener of the Inter University Students Federation

A Shortage Of Cards To Print National Identity Cards

 Due to the shortage of Cards use  to print National Identity  Cards the Department For Registrations Of Persons has decided to issue National Identity Cards print  in piece of paper as a temporary measure .

This new National Identity card printed in a paper will be valid when sitting for local and International tests and all bank activities the Department has stated .Until next August  Cards will not be available to print National Identity Card officials have stated .

A Person Was Injured Due To A Gun Shootinf Incident

 A person was injured and hospitalized due to a gun shooting incident at 06th lane in Kotahena area (Colombo_) this evening (18);.The  injured person was admitted to the  Colombo National Hospital for treatment 

Two persons came from a Motorcycle shot and injured the person it has been reported ,The reason behind the incident has not yet been revealed .
