Two Murder Accused, One Sentenced To Death Had Won Parliamentary Seats For The First Time In Parliament History

Parliament history two Murder accused persons who had contested the Parliamentary Election held last Wednesday  (05)had  won Parliament seats.

Accordingly Premalal Jayasekare -allias Chocka Malli attached to the ruling Sri Lanka People's progressive party  (SLPP)and  former LTTE Member  and leader of the TMVP  Party Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan allias    Pillayan  who is supporting the ruling party  had won Parliament seats at the election with large number of preferential votes.

MP elect Premalal Jayasekare  had contested for Ratnapura District and Pillayan had contested for the Batticaloa District.

However still there"s no explanation ftom authorities on how these murder accused persons (Premalal Jayasekare had been already sentenced to death by  court ) will attend Parliament sessions when the Parliament Schedule to onvene on 20th of August .

Prime Minister Elect Mahinda Rajapakshe To Swear In Before President On This Sunday (09)

Rajapakshe is scheduled to be sworn in as the Prime Minister of 09 th Sri Lankan Parliament this  Sunday morning  (09) at 8.30 a.m in Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya (Temple) ,Colombo.

He will swearing in before President Gotabaya Rajapakshe.

Meanwhile the new Cabinet of Ministers scheduled to be sworn in before President  at Magul Maduwa in Dalada Maligawa ,Kandy this Monday Morning (10). New Cabinet should be restricted to 30 Ministers according to the Constitutional amendments introduced to the constitution by the good governance government.

Meanwhile people commenting  in websites are questioning the reason behind begining of counting the  ballot papers a day after the election was held instead of rhe the same day.

Twenty Three Corona Positives Discharged From Hospitals Today (07)

A total of 23 Corona positives had been
discharged from hospitals today (07)after full recovery according to the Epidemeology Unit.

Accordingly the total number of Corona positives discharged from hospitals so far had risen to 2564 the Unit has stated.

At the moment 264 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals.  

No "PCR "Tests Had Been Preformed Yesterday (06)

 "PCR " Tests had not been perfor
med yesterday (06) to identify Corona positives according to Epidemeology Unit.

As a result no Corona positives had been detected  yesterday  the unit has stated .

At the moment the total number of Corona positives reported in the country so far stands at 2839 .

Even last Wednesday  (Election day )only 935 "PCR " tests had been performed to identify Corona positives it has  been reported .

Former CID Director Shani Abeysekare And A Sub Inspector Had Been Further Remanded

Gampaha Magistrate Court had today 
(07)further remanded the former Director of Criminal Investigations Department  (CID) Shani Abeysekare and former sub Inspector attached to Embilipitiya Police station who were arrested and remanded over hiding evidence of a fire arm case ,Until 20 th of August.

Both Former CID Director and sub Inspector had been remanded until today  (07) and they were further remanded after been produced before the court today.
