Luxury Jeep Which the Civil Defence Department Director General Traveling In Completely Destroyed By A Fire
The Luxury Jeep which the Director
General of Civil Defence Department Chandraratna Pallegama had travelling in suddenly caught fire and destroyed completely at Kanaganarayankulam area this noon (08).
The incident occurred when the Jeep was stopped to inspect a technical default experienced by the vehicle .
All in the Jeep escaped unhurt it has been revealed .
The cause of the incident has not yet been revealed.

Eight Former Muslim Ministers Had Met With Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakshe
Eight Muslim Cabinet,State and Deputy Ministers who had resigned from their portfolios on 03rd of June had met with Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakshe at his official residence in Colombo this noon and discussed what lead them for their decision to resign from portfolios.
Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakshe had told the Former Muslim Ministers that the decision the whole group had taken to resign from portfolios over the allegations leveled against one Minister (Rishad Baduideen ) is not a suitable one at the moment .
However the former group of Muslim Ministers had explained the Opposition leader that they have taken the decision to step down from their ministerial portfolios because of the accusations leveled against Muslim community and the health status of Athuraliye Rathana Thero who had launched a fasting campaign demanding the removal of Eastern and Western provincial governors and Former Minister Rishad Baduideen from their posts over helping extremists .
Opposition Leader Rajapakshe had advised the former Muslim ministers regarding their future activities the Former Higher Education Minister Rauf Hakim has told after the meeting.

Three Students Had Been Killed And One Was Croitically Injured Due To Careles Driving Of A Retired Army Soldier
Three Students of the ages 14,15 and 16 years had been killed and another student had been crirically injured and hospitalized after a Cab driven by a retired Army Soldier running over them near the Korosagalla Junction in Anuradhapura -Kekirawa main road around 7.30 a.m today (08).
The four critically injured students had been admitted to Kekirawa Provincial Hospital where three of them had succumbed to their injuries after admitting to hospital. The other critically injured student had been transferred to Dambulla Hospital for further treatment it has been reported.
The angry residents of the area had closed the A-9 Road and protested on the road demanding police to arrest the Cab driver and bring him along with the cab there .Although Police have attempted to disperse the protest the residents have strictly decided not to giving up the protest until the cab driver arrested.
Afterwards Ipalogama Police have chased the Cab which had been driven continuously and arrested the Cab driver at Ipalogama,Ranajayapura area.
The 54 year old suspect who had been transported Vegetables and Bananas from his cab from Dambulla to Anuradhapura had told the Police that he had fallen a sleep whist driving at the time of the accident in Kekirawa..However he had fled away from the area after the incident with three others in the cab.
The three deceased students were residents of Korosagalla area and had awaited for a Bus near the road to attend a tuition class when they met with the accident .
Residents of the area have accused the traffic police officers who were in the road near the accident site for not taking any step to arrest the suspected driver after the incident.
