Water Level Of The Kalu Ganga(River) Is Reaching It's Spill Level

Due to the heavy showers prevailing ,The water level of the Kalu Ganga(River) is rapidly reaching it's  spill level according to the Department of Irrigation.

Due to this situation the Department has requested the public lives in low land areas around the river  including Madurawala,Bulathsinghala,Horana,Kalutara ,Palindanuwara,Kiriella,Elapatha and Ratnapura areas to evacuate from.their houses and move to safe places.

Heavy Traffic Reported In Town Hall Due To A Protest March Of Sabaragamuwa University Students

A heavy traffic has been reported this evening (23) at the Town Hall and Ward Place areas due to a protest March conducted by a group of students attached to the Sabaraganuwa University.

The protest march which was organized by the Inter University Students Federation has walked towards the University Grants Commission building amidst heavy showers by demanding a representation for the Geology Faculty of Sabaragamuwa University in the Survey Council .

A Motorcyclist Was Injured Due To The Falling Down Of Mara Tree In Maradana

A Motorcyclist was injured and Hospitalized after a old "Siris" Tree (Mara Tree) located in front of the Railways Headquarters at Technical Junction in Maradana (Colombo) had collapsed over the road   (23) following the Adverse Weather prevails in .

The injured was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for treatment..

The Police along with the officials of Road Development Authority are currently engaging in the  removal of  the fallen Tree.

Due to this situation a heavy traffic is being  reported in the area according to reports.Motorists are being advised to use alternatives routes till the removal of the fallen tree.
