Government To Stop Re Exporting Tea And Pepper
Government will stop the re exporting(transhipment)
of Tea and Pepper with effect from 10th of February ,President Maithripala Sirisena has stated today (28).
President has revealed this during an election rally held in Badulla today.
Due to the transhipment of Tea to Russia through another country an insect was recovered from a stock of Sri Lankan Tea by the Russian authorities recently.

Twenty Persons Were Injured Due To A Collision Between Seven Vehicles
Twenty Persons were injured and hospitalized after a
Container Truck coliding with six vehicles including three Three wheelers,Two Private Buses and a Lorry as a result of the disfunction of the truck's break system at Galagedara on Kandy -Kurunagala main road this afternoon (28 ).
The injured including seven females were admitted to the Peradeniya Teaching and Galagedara Hospitals for treatment.
Police are conducting an investigation over the incident.
